Attorney James Robert Deal of Lynnwood explains:
“With the stroke of his pen, Governor Jay Inslee can end fluoridation throughout Washington.
“Washington law is very clear. Fluoridation may only be done using fluoridation materials which “comply with” National Sanitation Foundation Rule 60, which contains EPA’s approved set of guidelines for fluoridation materials.
“Rule 60 says that 20 toxicological tests and a risk estimation test must be done on fluoridation materials. There is absolute proof that the toxicological tests have never been done and the risk estimation calculations are being ignored. Thus, fluoridation materials do not “comply with” Washington law, and using them to fluoridate is illegal.”
Dr. Richard Sauerheber, chemistry professor, says:
“Fluoridation chemicals used are not naturally occurring calcium fluoride. They are not pharmaceutical grade. They are toxic waste from fertilizer production. NSF openly admits that fluoridation materials contain lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and thallium. If NSF 60 tests were done on these fluoridation materials, they would not pass the tests.”
Attorney Deal explains:
“I submitted a formal petition to the Washington Board of Health to stop fluoridation until the tests are done. The Board of Health ignored the law and denied the petition.
“Following RCW 34.05.330, I filed an appeal directly to Governor Inslee, and the petition now sits on his desk.
“If the Governor upholds the Board decision and disapproves my petition, he will have to respond in detail as to why he is doing so. Given the fact that the law is so clear-cut, this would be hard for him to do.
“I am cautiously optimistic that Governor Inslee will do the right thing and approve our petition. Fluoridation will stop until the tests are done.”
Dr. Sauerheber says:
“In fluoridated cities people consume about 2 milligrams of fluoride per day, from conception to death. Fluoridation is ineffective. Tooth decay can be reduced and mostly eliminated without fluoridation and at lower cost. Fluoride ingestion harms health, especially for fetus and baby. It interferes with thyroid function and makes it hard to lose weight. It steadily accumulates in bone and makes it unhealthy and prone to fracture. Fluoride is a known neurotoxin and interferes with many bodily processes. It generally affects overall health adversely.”
