WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT
SO-CALLED FLUORIDE
ADDED TO YOUR WAT
ER

There are things you can do – either to prevent your water district from adding dental chemicals to drinking water or to pressure your water district to stop adding them. James Robert Deal at his wirting desk 1-2012

* USE DOCS ON THIS SITE AS TEMPLATES

Use the documents on this web site to begin communicating with your water district, your city council, your county council, and your governor. It is important to ask questions in writing and keep pushing until you get answers in writing. Keep writing. Keep asking questions.

* DELIVER FOIA REQUESTS

See sample Freedom of Information documents. When you get a response, ask for more information based on what the water district failed

* CALL, WRITE TO, EMAIL TO, VISIT YOUR POLITICIANS, DELIVER FLIERS

Call, write, email, and visit your city council members, county council members, state representatives and senators, governor, federal representatives and senators. Tell them that this is an issue that is important to you and that they need to get on the right side of the issue. Offer to support them if they will oppose water fluoridation. Deliver fliers. Print this one out. It is loaded with information and with links to the important issues. Keep calling, writing, emailing and visiting.

* ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME

Ask your friends to call, write, email and visit political leaders. Go as a group to see your leaders. Be a pest, but be a friendly pest.

* SAMPLE DOCUMENTS

Letters to and from Fluoride Class Action and Everett Utilities and Snohomish County Health District.

Two-page, legal size, double sided flier that summarizes the issues.

Wake up letter to McKinney Texas City Council April, 2013 – the “captive water district” situation.

Informational letter to the Province of Quebec – April 2013 – where the issue is whether to terminate fluoridation.

You are free to start with my documents and adapt them to your own use with your community.

* FOCUS ON STRONGEST POINTS

It is easier to prove harm from the lead in the fluoride than from the fluoride itself. So focus on lead.

Fluoridation is clearly illegal – because the fluoridation materials do not meet state and NSF standards.  Focus on the illegality of fluoridation. Write to the city attorney, attorney general about this.

Those most harmed by fluoridation (and the lead as well) are embryos and fetuses in the womb. This is when their IQ is being lowered and where some of them are aborted. A lot of my friends focus on the harm to children, but rarely do they focus on the harm to the fetus in utero.

* FACEBOOK, TWITTER, WORDPRESS WEB SITE

It is easier to create a Facebook page than it is to create a web site. So create the Facebook page first.

According to the rules, you can only have one web site. So set up a fluoridation sub-page on your Facebook page. That will keep your personal Facebook stuff separate from your business or “cause” Facebook stuff. You can create as many sub-pages as you want.

So go  to the bottom of your primary page and look for “create a page”. These are the instructions:

  1. Click More at the bottom of the right column on your homepage
  2. Click Create a Page
  3. Click one of the boxes to choose a Page category
  4. Choose a subcategory and enter the required information
  5. Check the box next to I agree to Facebook Pages Terms and click Get Started

You can set up as many Twitter accounts as you want, provided each one uses a different email address.

A web site is more work. If you decide to do it, call Hostgator at 866-964-2867. They will reserve a domain name for you for around $12.95 per year and host your site for around $48.00 per year. And they will set up a default  Wordpress web site for you for free. Buy the Dummies book on WordPress. Hire a web designer who specializes in WordPress. You will get stuck and you will need help. Learn to do as much of the web work as you can on your own.

* DEMAND THAT EACH POLITICIAN TAKE A POSITION

In most states, those who want to run for office must sign up in May. There is a one week window for signing up. So don’t miss it. The cost of running varies. It cost me $800 to run for lieutenant governor of Washington in 2012. It cost around $400 for me to run for Lynnwood City Council. I intend to run for Snohomish County Council in 2014 and for govern in 2016. It is unlikely that I will win. But I will force my opponents to take a position on safe water and fluoridation. This is the web site I used to run for lieutenant governor and city council. .

* CREATE A BUY – DON’T BUY LIST — CREATE A PATRONIZE LIST

We should make a list of foods and  drinks which are fluoride free and another list of foods and drinks to avoid because they contain too much fluoride. Make a list of restaurants that use reverse osmosis to produce the water they cook with. Starbucks uses reverse osmosis to purify its water in all its stores around the world.

* RECRUIT LAWYERS

Talk with your attorney friends about getting involved. If they have an interest in environmental protection, civil rights, and corporate fraud, encourage them to get involved. Encourage them to call me. I am available to co-counsel with your lawyer, produce a draft complaint, and generally make your lawyer’s job a lot easier. I understand the law and the science and how to put the two together.

Most lawyers do not understand the science and the law on this issue, so equip them with reading material what will explain that fluoridation is not effective, harmful, and illegal.

If you can raise the money, hire a lawyer, a litigator with a personal injury, mass toxic tort, environmental, or class action experience or interest. If you can’t afford to hire a lawyer, encourage him to work with you initially on a pro bono basis during the initial phase. There should be a reasonable attorney fee award at the end of a class action lawsuit.

The litigation is coming, and it is going to be effective this time.

* RECRUIT PHYSICIANS, DENTISTS, SCIENTISTS WITH PHD DEGREES

Politicians and the public in general trust people who wear white coats and who have medical and scientific degrees. Get them involved. Adding lead leaching fluoridation materials to drinking water is an absurdity, and it helps having scientist saying so.

* DONATE

Running a law office is no picnic. I have to manage this office intensely to make sure that the work gets done and that enough money comes in to cover the overhead.

Doing what I do on this project takes up a lot of the time I would otherwise spend earning money to pay the overhead. So look in the right column of this web site for the DONATE button, and be generous. Your donation is not tax deductible. I will report it as fees earned. The less time I have to spend doing mortgage modifications means the more time I can put into stopping fluoridation.

* ASK THOSE WITH MONEY TO DONATE

Look for people who have money and contribute. Look for the older man or woman who has severe arthritis and now realizes that the fluoride he or she has been drinking all his or her life has made their condition worse. Ask them to contribute.

* WHAT I THINK WILL WORK: USE EVERY AVAILABLE METHOD

There is something we can all do. It may take a long time, but we will succeed. A saying I made up:

They have all the money;
we have all the good ideas;
so we can’t lose – if we just persist.
